The palette borrows from late-autumn materials rather than Halloween orange: oat linen, natural jute, walnut, saddle leather, deep olive, and a single note of burnt orange. Each color appears in at least two places in the room, which is what makes the space feel cohesive rather than collected.

A walnut coffee table with an oval, fluted body softens the straight lines of the sofa, and its rounded shape makes it easy to move around in a busy living room. Behind the sofa, a rustic brown console gives the table lamp a home and adds a second wood tone for depth.

Autumn evenings arrive early, and nothing changes the mood of a room faster than lighting. Aim for three levels of warm light instead of relying on one overhead fixture:

With the room built, the seasonal layer can be light. Tall autumn eucalyptus in an earthy, rock-textured ceramic vase adds height on the console. On the coffee table, a wide wooden bowl holds a small cluster of knit pumpkins — the only overtly “fall” objects in the room, and all you need.
