Our FOUNDER
Born in the Caribbean, where she spent her early childhood years, Katia's tropical roots instilled in her a love for colorful and eclectic home decor. Her family's French heritage also played a significant role in shaping her design aesthetic, with its emphasis on elegance, sophistication, and attention to detail. Later, her decade-long stint in New York City infused her style with a sleek, urban edge. Now, calling the Midwest home, Katia's design aesthetic seamlessly blends farmhouse charm with coastal cool.
As a true global citizen, Katia speaks three languages fluently. This ability to connect with people from diverse backgrounds has informed her design philosophy, which emphasizes the importance of creating welcoming spaces that reflect the unique personalities and styles of each individual.
As a proud mom to an amazing 15-year-old son who's already working towards an associate degree while aspiring to become a Civil Engineer, Katia knows a thing or two about supporting big dreams. When she's not busy running the show at Môdern Space Gallery, you can find her spending time with family, learning, traveling, exploring new cultures, bringing joy to others, connecting with people from diverse backgrounds, or enjoying some type of dessert (because, let's be real, life is sweeter with a little bit of sweetness!).
